Futura serves up the creamiest gelato I've personally ever had, alongside granita so flavourful it's almost like biting simultaneously  into the fruits they're derived from.

And this is exactly what makes Futura stand out for me---how meticulously the goodies come together. There are no shortcuts when it comes to ingredients. Flavours are always full, never artificial, and the pairings are well thought out.

On that note, no matter what tickles your fancy, there's likely a flavour for you---from black sesame to earl grey, lemon cream, premium nuts like hazelnuts, and pistachio, to watermelon lime, sour cherry hibiscus, Niagara strawberries and mango coconut.

A personal flavour recommendation, if you delight in the simplicity, craft and tangy palettes, consider lemon cream. To me, it's mindbending how Futura blends the citrus of the lemon with the creaminess of gelato. A beautiful treat on a hot day!

Besides flavours, I love that Futura serves both gelato and granita. It's perfect because whether you're hankering for something rich or something that feels light and hydrating, your craving will be satisfied.

Hot and Humid? No problem, come to Futura for some delicious very delicious granita/gelato!!

A small shop that's got a couple of stools, a nice wall with drawings (picture perfect wall), and a little corner where you can sit (on the floor) with plants, in what I'm guessing are wooden wine boxes (i could be totally wrong).

Service was great - the lady that served us was patient with us while we were deciding what to get. By the time we decided on what we wanted, she was quite surprised that we didn't "dig in" the second she handed off our desserts to us (I guess she's used to customers devouring it right then and there)!  Anyways, just wanted to make a note on how sweet and friendly she is:)

Okay, so the granitas and gelatos...

So, here's how I would describe Granita (if you have never had it/never heard of it like me).  It's a slush/gelato mix. At least in my opinion, that's how i would describe it. it's pretty much a snow cone with that BIG gelato flavor.

So, in order to understand WHY it costs more for Bronte Pistachio, please check out my photo (where it gives you the reason behind its price- and then you can come back and read the rest of my review :)

I STRONGLY, STRONGLY suggest that if you're here, get their Bronte Pistachio - as previously mentioned, you will need to pay extra for it as it's one of two listed under their Premium category...but believe me, this is unlike any other pistachio gelato/ice cream that's available!! It's creamy and it's like having a million pistachios all in your mouth at once (as i'm remembering the taste of it, i'm drooling).

I wasn't a huge huge fan on their Niagara Strawberry NOT because I don't support local, but it's cause it was literally very strawberry-ish for me. Strawberries for me are sour - no matter how "sweet" it is, i still find it way to sour for my liking.

Friend got the Sicilian Almond and Coffee, and man oh man, when you mix the two together, it literally tasted like almond milk+coffee!!

I'm hoping I can find time to come back while its still warm out!~

Summer in TO can be so hot and humid! Time for some frozen treats.

Futura Graniteria + Gelato offers house made granita which is a semi-frozen dessert made from sugar, water and various flavorings. Originally from Sicily, it is related to sorbet and Italian ice;  it has a coarser, more crystalline texture.

Using local fruits like Niagara Strawberries, it is just so sweet and refreshing. I just love the intense taste.

And make sure you order Pistachios if you are a lover. So nutty and smooth.

A taste of Italy in Toronto.

The interior decor is clean and simplistic. White on white. Great background to feature all their colourful offerings.

Folks we have a winner on hand here. After reading the glowing reviews from fellow yelpers I was eager to visit this spot sooner rather than later. This area isn't the most accessible for moi for a good reason as the street was almost deserted on a Friday evening around 9 pm! Ah well being the one to venture out for a good dessert this spot was worth the detour. The setup is very good and has a clean uncluttered feel. Kudos for not going overboard. Now for the main event they don't let you sample the premium flavors (what gives) so I tried the sweet cream (as basic as it gets folks) which was very good. I opted for the pistachio and boy it didn't disappoint. Very pronounced flavors of pistachio and nice texture. I would go as far as saying the best in the city. I will be back.

Mmmm delicious granita and gelato!! Love this area and love this small beautiful space! Got the cheesecake gelato and mango granita. Mango was nice and fruity but the flavouring wasn't too strong. The cheesecake on the other hand was thick, creamy, and I'd definitely order this again!

I also tasted the salted caramel and hazelnut gelatos. THIS COMBINATION IS EVERYTHING. 10/10 would order again
